I’m Phyllis Mathis, alias Slanderwoman, which is a name I hope I’ve outgrown. For some reason WordPress insists that’s who I am, and being less than willing to rock the boat with WordPress, I guess I’ll keep it. Someday I’ll tell you how I claimed it.
I’m a wife, a mother, a psychotherapist, and a life coach in training. Lots of days I’d rather be Aretha Franklin. Or a dog trainer. A farmer, an artist, or a dancer. Sadly in my long life I’ve missed the necessary skills to fall back on some of my druthers. At my best I’m a writer and a talker and a listener. Mostly though, I’m fascinated with the process of being a person.

Hello there! Was thinking of you and wanting to see if I could find your blog. Just listened to the fun lyrics ‘get up offa that thing’ and perused some beauty writings. I need to read them in their entirety b/c after having 2 babies (now 10 months since Baby #2 – Alexa Simone Lee) I am not back to where I was physically with the 1st one. Just a bit of a bummer at times. But, really, even though my body has changed again, and things fit differently again, I am beautful, dammit!!!! You are so much fun. Would love to hear from you if you have a moment. Hope all is well in your neck of the woods! Love, Leslie
Phyllis –
Happy to have found you (through Cheerio Road). I’m also a coach, and writer, and lots of other things I don’t necessarily have the skills for. Love your bio.
Best,
Jena
Jena,
Welcome fellow coach, writer, and similarly under-skilled but hopeful person! Thanks for saying hi!
